Liverpool host Fulham at Anfield in a Matchweek 4 fixture that pits Andoni Iraola’s work-in-progress attack against a Fulham side trying to find its feet under first-time top-flight boss Alvaro Arbeloa. Liverpool have leaned hard on the Alexander Isak-Florian Wirtz partnership up front all preseason, while Arbeloa has largely stuck with the group he inherited from Marco Silva rather than overhauling it. Here is our full breakdown, part of our ongoing coverage of the best betting sites for backing every Premier League fixture this season.

Team Analysis
Liverpool
Heading into Matchweek 4 of the Iraola era, the growing chemistry between Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz remains the headline storyline at Anfield. Both arrived in blockbuster deals last summer and endured quieter-than-expected first campaigns, and Iraola has made unlocking that £241m forward pairing in front of a raucous home crowd a clear priority through the opening weeks of his tenure. A home fixture against a side still settling in under a rookie manager is exactly the kind of match where that investment should start to show.
Key Storyline: Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz continue chasing the kind of consistent chemistry Anfield has been waiting to see from its record forward pairing
Fulham
Alvaro Arbeloa’s first season in senior management continues with a squad that looks almost identical to the one Marco Silva left behind, after Silva himself called the summer transfer window “passive” on his way out the door. Canadian international Luc de Fougerolles, who turned heads at this year’s World Cup, remains part of the picture as Arbeloa tries to establish his own identity with largely the same group of players. A trip to Anfield this early in a first-time manager’s Premier League education is about as tough an away test as the schedule offers.
Key Storyline: Alvaro Arbeloa takes his largely unchanged Fulham squad, still featuring Canadian international Luc de Fougerolles, into one of the toughest road assignments in the league
Key Betting Angles
Liverpool have owned this fixture historically, and last season’s meetings did nothing to change that trend, with Liverpool winning 2-0 at Anfield in April. Fulham have shown they can be competitive in this matchup before, but doing so on the road against a Liverpool side trying to force its record forward line into gear is a tall order for a manager still learning the job. Anfield’s home advantage, plus the attacking upside still owed by Isak and Wirtz, makes the goals markets and a comfortable home scoreline both worth a look here.

Our Prediction
Cole’s Pick: Liverpool to win
Liverpool’s attacking investment is overdue a big performance, and a home game against a newly-promoted-manager side settling into the Premier League grind looks like the spot for Isak and Wirtz to finally click together in front of the Anfield crowd. Fulham’s squad continuity under Arbeloa is admirable, but it also means there is little in the way of fresh legs to disrupt a home side pressing for its first big result of the season.
Confidence: medium-high, Liverpool’s attacking talent and home advantage should be too much for a Fulham side still adjusting to a first-time manager
